Investment Casting: Solution for Manufacturing Complex Precision Parts

Tooling & DFM

CAD/CAM and CNC tooling with design-for-casting reviews build in tolerances and surface-finish quality at the die stage, enabling right-first-time sampling and repeatable precision.

Wax Injection

Replica wax patterns are made by wax injection into hardened steel or aluminium dies (or by rapid prototyping patterns), with shrinkage allowances ensuring dimensional accuracy in the final casting.

Pattern Assembly

Wax patterns are attached to a central sprue to form a tree; gates and runners are engineered for efficient, defect-resistant metal flow and high throughput.

Shell Building

The wax assembly is dipped in ceramic slurry and stuccoed in controlled cycles to build a rigid 5–12 mm ceramic shell, maintaining dimensional fidelity at high pouring temperatures.

Dewaxing & Preheat (Sintered)

Wax is removed via autoclave or furnace, and shells are then preheated, leaving clean, accurate cavities that reduce defects and improve metal fill.

Melting & Pouring

Induction melting of stainless steel, carbon steel, and nickel/special alloys is followed by gravity pouring into preheated shells to produce sound, consistent castings.

Fettling & Grit Blasting

Castings are separated from grids (assembly) by gas cutting, and then feeder pads are removed from castings by machining or belt grinding. Thereafter they are grit blasted to remove surface impurities.

Heat Treatment & Finishing

Mechanical properties are optimized through annealing, normalizing, or solution treatment; post-casting operations like machining and surface treatments are done to achieve final specifications.

Inspection & Certification

Spectro analysis, hardness, tensile, and impact testing on test bars, NDT (X-ray, MPI, DPI), along with dimensional verification (CMM), validate internal soundness and tolerances, supported by full heat traceability and compliance documentation.
